Archbishop Brady expresses disappointment at developments in Northern Ireland
I wish to express my disappointment at today’s announcement that, once again, the power-sharing Executive and the Northern Ireland Assembly are being suspended.I share the regret of many people in Northern Ireland at the loss of devolved government.
At the same time, we should not lose sight of the considerable progress that has been achieved in recent years, and the fact that the Good Friday Agreement is still in place.
I appeal to all parties concerned to use every available opportunity to rebuild the trust that is essential to working together in government.
