Special Holy Week and Easter feature on www.catholicbishops.ie
As we prepare to celebrate the joy of Our Lord’s Resurrection on Easter Sunday – 8 April 2012, the Catholic Communications Office has put together a special feature for Holy Week and Easter on www.catholicbishops.ie
The feature includes the following:
• A video reflection as Gaeilge on the Easter Triduum by Bishop Brendan Kelly, Bishop of Achonry
• Details of the Vatican liturgies
• Public service broadcast details from BBC and RTÉ including details of the broadcast of the Easter Services and the traditional Easter greeting from Pope Benedict Urbi et Orbi at 11.00am on Easter Sunday
• Links to messages and homilies from Bishops as they become available
• Information on events around the country as details become available e.g. the outdoor Way of the Cross in Dublin and Dawn Masses around the country
• Links to videos from the Vatican as they become available
• Guided stations of the Cross facilitated by Fr Paul Clayton-Lea
The feature will be updated throughout the week. In addition to this special Holy Week and Easter Feature the Bishops’ website also features a new pastoral message Repent and Believe the Good News Today, launched to coincide with the end of Lent and lead into Holy Week. Repent and Believe the Good News was published to call to mind the central place of repentance in the lives of all of us. This message builds upon the summons to renewal that Pope Benedict XVI has given to us in Ireland in his Pastoral Letter to the Catholics of Ireland and also last week in the publication of the Summary of the Findings of the Apostolic Visitation in Ireland.
The feature is live now on www.catholicbishops.ie
