Tuam Diocese Announces Appointment of Youth Director
Archbishop Michael Neary, Archbishop of Tuam has announced the appointment of Ms Trish O’Brien as full time Youth Director for the Archdiocese. This is the first time that the Archdiocese has filled such a position. In making the announcement the Archbishop said “This is an exciting time for the Archdiocese. Over the past 6 years the Diocesan Youth Council has worked to engage with young people at both diocesan and parish level and the appointment of Trish O’Brien will not alone build on work already done but it is hoped that it will facilitate parishes in creating local structures to help young people explore and celebrate their faith.” Archbishop Neary continued, “The young people of our diocese are our greatest asset and our greatest challenge, and the employment of a full time Youth Director is an indication of how seriously we take that challenge.”
