The Pontifical Council for the Family has prepared a resource for the animation of the final part of the families’ pilgrimage to the Holy Door of the Jubilee.
The itinerary is divided into three main moments, during which the families are invited to thank the Lord, to ask God and one another for forgiveness, and to choose a concrete exercise of mercy to be lived together, with trust in God who welcomes and loves everyone. Some biblical suggestions and short extracts from Pope Francis’ Bull of Indiction of the Jubilee, Misericordiae Vultus, accompany each part.
The text will be available on 27 December, in Saint Peter’s Square, to the families participating in the Jubilee in Rome, and it will punctuate the path between the nativity scene in the center of the square and the entrance into the Basilica. It will also be made available to all the dioceses that organise similar events in the local jubilee churches. The Pontifical Council for the Family is also inviting local churches to adapt this resource in accordance with particular local needs and traditions.
