Statement by Bishop Doran
I was delighted, this morning, to hear news of the appointment by Pope Francis, of Father Donal Roche, as Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Dublin.
During my years as a priest in Dublin, I had the pleasure of working closely with Donal in the pastoral care and promotion of vocations. I particularly valued his gift of encouragement, which will serve him well in his new ministry as a Bishop.
Bishop-elect Donal has a very wide range of pastoral experience, both in the pastoral care of young people and in parish ministry. As he takes up his new mission, I look forward to working with him again, and I wish him every blessing.
