The day begins at 10.30 am and runs until 4.00pm and has been designed to allow people to drop in for coffee at 11.00am and afterwards to take time for prayer, reflection and avail of the opportunity to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation (Penance). Commenting on the initiative Ms Brenda Drumm, Project Manager for the Year of Vocation said, “The Year of Vocation aims to both encourage and provide opportunities for people to take time out, in a faith context, to reflect on their particular vocation, or calling, in life. Our ‘Time Out’ day next Tuesday is designed to allow people to drop in for a few minutes so that they can pray and have the opportunity to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation . There will be three different opportunities to hear the presentation Holy Week in a Changed Ireland by Dr Andrew O’Connell, which promises to be thought provoking.”
Trócaire’s special exhibition for of their 2009 Lenten Campaign will be available as part of this ‘Take Time Out for Holy Week’ event. Veritas Publications will also be in attendance offering a selection of Holy Week and Easter books and materials for sale.
