Bishop Fintan Gavin ordains Rev Ronan Sheehan to the diaconate

On Saturday 25 September 2021 Bishop Fintan Gavin, Bishop of Cork & Ross, ordained Reverend Ronan Sheehan to the diaconate.  The ordination took place in the Cathedral of Saint Mary & Saint Anne, Cork City.  Deacon Sheehan is a seminarian of the Diocese of Cork & Ross and a graduate of Saint Patrick’s College, Maynooth.  Please find attached a photograph for publication from the ordination ceremony.  The caption, which is embedded in picture, reads:

Bishop Fintan Gavin ordains Rev Ronan Sheehan to the diaconate in the Cathedral of Saints Mary and Anne, Cork.  Rev Sheehan is from the parish of Murragh and Templemartin, which includes Newcestown in West Cork, and is preparing to be a priest of the Diocese of Cork and Ross.  Ronan’s parents Bud and Denise were in the congregation at the Cathedral along with his sisters Ciara, Orlaith and Aoibhe, brother-in-law Trevor and niece Gia.  His sister Leona in Portsmouth joined via live-stream.  

At the Ordination to Diaconate of Rev. Ronan Sheehan by Bishop Fintan Gavin at the Cathedral of Ss Mary and Anne, Cork, on Saturday last. Rev. Sheehan is from the parish of Murragh and Templemartin, which includes Newcestown in West Cork and is preparing to be a priest of the Diocese of Cork and Ross. Ronan’s parents Denise and Bud (to his right) were in the congregation at the Cathedral of St. Mary and St. Anne along with his sisters Ciara, Orlaith and Aoibhe, brother-in-law Trevor and niece Gia.
